About me
It all started in 2020 with my self-built titanium hardtail frame. I wanted to build something of my own and realize my ideas, as I couldn't find anything suitable.
I only discovered titanium as a material for bicycle construction indirectly, as I was initially focused on a stainless steel hardtail. As the development progressed, I discovered titanium as a material and remembered its advantages from my automotive engineering studies. Although it's a difficult material to work with, its properties were perfect for me from the start. Since the material doesn't rust, it doesn't require painting, and any scratches can simply be polished out – perfect conditions for a long-lasting bike!
Almost exactly one year later, I started designing and kinematically engineering a single-pivot mountain bike. Anti-squad and anti-rise weren't entirely new to me, as similar issues also apply to car chassis. Nevertheless, it was difficult for me to convert the values calculated on the computer into a feeling to understand how the mountain bike behaves off-road. This is how my first rideable prototype was born – a single-pivot frame with a high pivot and an Effigear gearbox.
The feeling of having constructed a well-functioning bike and the positive feedback for such a frame were indescribable and motivating. Therefore, I wanted to learn more about mountain bike suspension, and so I added another frame in 2024.
To have more kinematic freedom, I switched from a single-pivot frame to a multi-pivot frame with a Horst link. Compared to its predecessor, the result was a better balance of relatively high anti-squat with significantly lower anti-rise. The result was more traction and agility combined with a satisfying feel.
Thanks to the many positive feedback and constant improvements, my frames became more and more harmonious for me. And so, over time, what was purely a technical interest and a hobby developed into something more.
It's important to me that bicycles are both easy to maintain and durable. That's why I'm all about titanium!
